❌ online discourse, ✔️ holistic knowledge fiction & non-fiction that will deepen your understanding of sapphism, its language/label evolution, and its intersections with bipoc, gender diversity and bisexuality. (please note “lesbian” terminology was originally an umbrella term inclusive of fluid sapphics when many books were published, and not all identified as specifically wlw!)

I think Thank You For Calling the Lesbian Line by Elizabeth Lovatt would be a great addition to an already fantastic list!
Thank you! I’ve added it! 😊
I don’t know if putting Elliot Page’s book in this list is fair. He is a trans man, and the association of his book with wlw books isn’t really fair to him
This isn’t a list of WLW books only though! It’s a list of books that delve into diverse lesbian/sapphic experiences over time and that has always had huge intersections with trans identities. The lines between butch, transmasc, and trans men have always had overlaps (especially as our cultural understanding of gender has changed over time) and there are many lesbian/sapphic-identified trans men as well. Not saying Elliot is one, but his book and trajectory in life is still an important marginalised narrative for any sapphic to have exposure to IMO. Though all WLW are certainly sapphic/lesbian (and are even the majority group among sapphics/lesbians), not all sapphics/lesbians are WLW as not all identify as women, and many WLW/sapphics/lesbians eventually evolve beyond those identities as well. If anyone has ever had a home in lesbian/sapphic culture, I think it’s very important to learn more about for good allyship to all groups and deeper understanding of what lesbianism/sapphism means.
