Great list I love it! 🫶🏻
Thank you for bringing this very important thing to my attention!
Glad to do so! 🥰
Thank you so much!! ☺️🇮🇹🪄
I’ve been interested in learning more about Calabrian practices (both of my paternal great-grandparents were born there) because of the remedies, and sayings, I heard from my grandparents as a child. They were not good people btw. I found this online research and commentary that answered several questions I had and it gave me insight toward why they did/said such terrible things to me and my siblings.
Understanding things better will either trigger me or help me! I dunno but I’m going to check out some of the books on your list 😅
Hello LaDonnaQ - thank you for sharing this article. This is a wonderful resource, and I’ll absolutely dive into it deeper!
My maternal grandparents are both from Calabria as well 🥲 I’m so sorry to hear about your experiences with your grandparents, and how that impacts your relationship with your lineage. Ancestral reconnection / connection is absolutely triggering at times. ❤️🩹
I wonder if you may enjoy Ancestral Magic by Frankie Castanea. They also have relatives who immigrated from Calabria (to the U.S. - although I’m not American and I’m not sure if you are) and they offer many resources for ancestral healing and repair, if that might be something of interest to you! Regardless, they share many practices for Calabrian lineages, and their writing is very accessible*. ☺️ They also have a YouTube & IG @chaoticwitchaunt where they share their teachings as an Italian Folk Practitioner. That would be my recommended starting place whenever you might be ready or interested ✨
*ETA: accessible as in, written for a beginner level into witchcraft, ancestral healing / reconnection, and folk magic.
