5/5 given for a book that pretty much lacks a plot but still entertains. Georgie disguises herself as a cabin boy to get back to America because of course a beautiful well developed woman can pose as a 12 yo boy….romance. The age/maturity gap is a little yikes, but of its time In romance history.

There are a lot of questions about book recommendations or favorites, but what is the book(s) you absolutely feel repulsed by whenever you see it? Just want to add: i know everyone has their own tastes and that does not mean if one hated the book the other shouldn't has terrible taste, it is the matter of personal opinion. What doesn't sit well with me might be perfect for you :) this is just for fun and to know you all a lot better

Hey everyone! I’ve never really read horror before, and I’m super curious about it. I usually lean toward all kinds of genres, but I feel like crime and mystery come closest to horror in terms of atmosphere and suspense. What I find tricky, though, is imagining how a book can create the same level of fear or tension as a horror movie or game—where the visuals, sounds, and music all come together to build that spooky vibe. With books, it’s just the author’s words and my own imagination… which might actually make it even creepier? 😅 Soo, do you have any horror recs that are good for beginners? My boyfriend owns Carrie by Stephen King—would that be a decent place to start? Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance for any suggestions! 📚✨

A successful lawyer who is hiding his past and a gilded age heiress who is only now realizing she has been incredibly sheltered. She feels obligated to marry another man chosen by her father and he has decided Mamie would never love him if she knew the truth of his childhood. The story is great with little bits of Gilded Age history sprinkled in, a “different worlds” hero and heroine match, and a plot driven forward by the ticking clock for a woman accused of murder.

A Valkyrie and a Vampire, enemies for hundreds of years. She is emotionless after a curse and he chooses a life of isolation without joy until they meet (at beginning of book, not a spoiler) when she comes to kill him after being called by the villagers and wham-o, fated mates. There is adventure, character development as the two dummies realize they DO love one another, and an expansion of each character’s world as they acknowledge emotion. It was great.

I always think back to the childhood books that got made me into the reader I am today so I wanna know what books everyone on here got them into reading! It also doesn’t have to be childhood books if you became a big reader later in life but I would still love to know what your answer was! One of the first books that I remember really loving and becoming obsessed with is the first Percy Jackson book that my mom recommended to me when I was about 7-9. So I owe my reader journey to her. I also really love the Pixie Hollow series so I’m super excited to read Wings of Starlight soon. (I’m also using this post as an opportunity to get some reading recommendations 🤭)
