hey all!!
i was just wondering if you ever go back and change ratings from books you read a while ago? i personally gave a lot of books at the start of my reading journey very high ratings, that i would never rate that high anymore, but changing it feels wrong? in what cases do you go back to adjust your rating? do you change your rating/review when an author gets cancelled? etc.
curious to hear all your thoughts and opinions about this!

I believe I am currently in one and have no idea what caused it. Maybe I overdid it the past few months (if that’s even possible), or maybe I’m enjoying my current book so much I don’t want it to end. Or it could be a million other things. All I know is I have so many books I really want to read, but I keep reaching for my phone instead 🤬😤😠

I'm working on one now, in fact! The third draft of a "clothing-on" (I believe this is the scale we are using now?) historical romance that is precisely the story I've been wanting to read for a while, complete with period-appropriate references and everything!

Okay, what’s your absolute favorite book ever? The one that you’d recommend to anyone who asks for a book rec. Any genre. Any rationale. What’s your favorite book?

When you read, do you like to make theories and predictions as to what will happen OR read blindly, learning with the main character as the story unfolds?
I had a major thriller/mystery phase a few years ago and initially I went in completely blind with no theories, just vibing with the story. But eventually I began noticing similar patterns and trends in all the books that had me guessing the ending earlier than I intended, which sucked because reading blindly is just so much more fun for me!! I feel like if I correctly guess what will happen, I’ve just spoiled it for myself lol

I was in transit yesterday and read something and realized that I made a visible face and everyone could tell exactly what I was thinking.
I'm curious, are you team "poker face" or team "it all shows on my face as I read"?
Have you ever had someone comment on a face or lack of emotion when you read? Do you ever act out what is in the book (i.e. weird facial expression descriptions)?

i love reading challenges because they’re a great way to read outside my usual comfort zone and engage with authors, (sub)genres, and ideas that i don’t pick up on my own. i’ve yet to ever actually complete one but i think they’re fun to try anyways!
i always do the popsugar challenge and this year i added the ABC challenge. what other challenges do you do that you enjoy? any recommendations? any to avoid?
