What is, according to you, the appropriate amount of pages/percentage read for you to log your reading progress?

i am literally just opening the cover but i’m already excited because the chapters have names!!! it is a little thing but it adds such a touch of character to me since i feel like it’s so rare now to get proper chapter titles. that + having maps, the picture of the spellograph, and the index at the end, im so in love!

I am someone who, I can imagine as many of you here, enjoy the pleasures of reading. But I am, and again, i imagine as many of you as well, easily distracted by a particular thing. My phone. You see, the times i read without it near me or the knoledge of it existing in my near space, I find myself easily trapped inside the stories and enjoy the book much better. When I'm reading and my phone is in the couch or by my night table, I often glance at it when it buzz, to check the time, to ask uncle google a random question I just happen to remember being curious about- and so on and on it goes. This is why im staring to implement no phones around when reading. This can be hard, and sometimes impossible, since we are also busy people. I have to use the translator sometimes since i like reading in english but im latina. Mothers need ro check up on their kids, working people are busy replying emails and phone calls. But I try, because even if I put it on silent, i still think about it. Any other ideas?

I picked this book up for the anti brain rot reading challenge (by thisstoryaintover). This is the nonfiction pick for the month of January and fulfills the requirements for the “not currently living in NA” prompt and “history/politics nonfiction” prompt.
I was lucky enough to be able to get an ebook copy from Toronto library. Unfortunately, this library is not connected to my kobo. So, I decided to read the first few pages on my phone before work. If I liked it, I would buy a physical copy. If not, it’s a simple dnf. And oh boy am I enjoying this! Although I’ve only finished the preface as of writing this, the information and writing is truly amazing. It also reads super easy for a nonfiction book which I love to see, especially since politics isn’t something I tend to read about. I’m excited to continue and annotate the hell out of this book!!

A friend bought this reading journal with a "book bingo" section. To complete a bingo she needs to still "cry while reading", amongst other rather easy prompts.
The 'problem' is that she's not really a cryer when it comes to books or even movies.
Any suggestions on books that will even make her shed a tear? What were the books that made you cry?
