For those of us that love collecting Quest badges, how do you personally decide which badges you want to showcase? Do you rotate them around or stick with a couple favorites, and how do you choose which to show off (by level, genre, etc.)? Personally, I like to show off a variety of different badges (just like I try to have some diversity in My Taste books), but I really would love to knowhow everyone else picks their badges. Alternatively, if you don't like having badges on your profile, I'd love to know why as well.

So obviously we all know certain authors/creators like to hide references/easter eggs in their works.. but I’ve always wondered what they do when no one notices? Some things tend to be so niche and not every author has millions of fans to do Taylor Swift-esque hunting. I’ve always known if I were to write a book I’d make a list of all the hidden secrets I put in it, so people can see the hard work. What are your thoughts? Would you want everyone to know? Or would you let the readers figure it out, even if it means nobody ever does? And what books/pieces of art, music, film etc have you seen ‘Easter eggs’ in. I’m a sucker for ‘crossover episodes’ in books, like Jacks in Caraval or the callbacks in Steven King.

I like how Percy explains things that happen in the first book. It reminds of “Previously on…” 🤣 I can really appreciate that because I can read other books in between.
Also I hate to see the camp turned into something that reminded Percy of military school. It was his happy place and I don’t like things changing in the camp.

I loved everything about this book. The way it is written/narrated, they way how many different characters are involved. If you can make it through a slow start it is absolutely worth it. It’s the first book that made me cry but I didn’t read much before that tbh

I enjoyed the illustrations in the book! And I think it can be a good read for kids. I would prefer the story to be a bit more wide and talk about some good things in Siberia, but I am biased coming from there.

I am not sure if this book is targeted towards kids. It seems that way because how careful it is around the topic of death.
To my taste I would prefer it to explode the oppression of Soviet State a bit more because it wasn’t only targeted towards ethnic minorities, but also towards anybody who didn’t agree with the party.
Also, coming from Siberia, I was a bit sad that the book didn’t show something good about the summer time. I recognize awful history of the places I grew up in but I also have amazing memories of my childhood in Siberia and would love to see it to be recognized. Very selfish, I know. But Russia is not all bad, kids enjoy playing in the river and explore the first, forage for some berries/mushrooms. And it doesn’t cancel out the hardships of the winter.
