I love to read romance books, but I also love fantasy as well.

  • Who’s Joining the Anti-Brain Rot Challenge?

Is there anyone who’s joining the Anti-Brain Rot Challenge? I’m personally doing it but I always like to make it my own since I’m more of a mood reader. My main goal is to read consistently and diversely. I would love to make this challenge more of a community/group thing since reading can sometimes be a lonely hobby.

Would anyone like to do something like that? Maybe I could create a book club on fable or something.

One of the things I really like about this book is that the first book in the series actually had things going on. The only character that I really find myself connecting to was Darrow. I liked other characters, but I didn’t really get to go deeper into them. I think this is a good example of a plot-driven story than a character-driven story. It was hard to read at some points, I think this might have been better written in the limited third POV. I’m excited to read the next book.

    🥺

This book was really well written. I found myself connecting with the characters a lot more than I realized. They’re not necessarily rememberable but they will leave you empathizing with them because they are so similar to actual people. This book had me physically balling my eyes out because I could actually feel the emotional wave these characters were experiencing.

  • Audio vs. Physical/ebook

Has anyone had the issue of not paying as close attention to a book when they listen to the auiobook instead of reading it? Sometimes I'm lucky enough to score both of the ebook and audiobook from the library, and sometimes I'll find myself saying "What?" or "Who?" later on when I'm further in the book because I zone out while I'm listening to the audiobook. I only listen to the audio books on my way to and from work, so that may play a part, but I've missed entire characters being introduced before.
