I want to be a more mindful reader and for me this means engaging more with the text, I kinda know how to do it with physical books but right now I can only read on a kindle basic, do you know of a system that might work on digital books? I was thinking maybe something like a commonplace or perhaps some index cards?

Honestly, the book had its moments, but for me, it was a little underwhelming. The author is good at painting a picture, but the writing style felt super dense and kind of slow. There were parts that were just plain boring, making it a struggle to keep going.
I even had to switch to the audiobook early on just to power through it and finish the story. It had a neat idea, but the pacing was off, and I expected more excitement. If you're into history and mythology (like I am but this was a let down đ) and don't mind a slower read, you might like it. Otherwise, be ready for a bit of a slog.
