E.Reads

She/Her, French, I read mostly nonfictions and LGBTQ+ romances, but my tastes are pretty wide, although I tend to avoid very angsty reads.

  • Booktube recs that don't make booktok vids

By that what I mean is having their main type of videos be about booktok drama, hot takes, drama again, "booktok lied to me" etc

I find those type of videos annoying and overdone so if anyone has recs for booktube channels that don't really dwell into drama like that I'd appreciate it

  • Freaky, Feral, Funny Friday Reads 2026! Week 5

HAPPY FRIDAY, WE MADE IT. YOU'RE HERE!

A little praise and worship to the fellows PB friends here (such a good girl/boy you are), you are all wonderful and I hope you day gets better and better. Please also stay warm and dry to our snowy friends. (yes i can be a little sincere and considerate. No i wont show it often)

Anyways, we're here for feral reads right?!!! So what was your feral, freaky, funny read for this week?

This week, mine was Tourist Season by Brynne Weaver. I had a really enjoyable time and can't wait for book 2!

  • Disappearance of mass market paperbacks

I've seen a few headlines and read a few articles about mass market paperbacks going extinct, and frankly i'm sad! I feel like there's an ideal size for a book, and a lot of the hardcovers are too big in my opinion (plus i'm not a huge fan of hardcovers in general), and trade paperbacks are sort of a hit or miss. Plus, they've always been more affordable. Apparently ebooks have taken over the market that was previously held by the mass market paperbacks. Anyways.. does anyone else care about this? I don't really know that much about publishing but I feel a bit 😦 about the news..!

  • Do you think this quest is for me?

I want to get into horror, have wanted to try it for a while now, BUT I can't read about sexual violence, it's a major trigger for me, and I'm always afraid that's what I'll find in horror books. Knowing that, do you think this quest would be a good fit for me? The queer aspect is a big bonus and that makes trying those horror books even more appealing.

Not gonna lie, so far Michelle isn't winning me over even when we're in her PoV. I hope Audrey's friendship mission will bring out her good sides and make me like her more. (I mean, it's a romance, I have no doubt she'll succeed in her mission, but I do want to root for Michelle too!)
