Book #2 in my quest to find good modern Little Women retellings+reimaginings!
I read this book for the first time back when I was around thirteen, and remember liking it a lot at the time. I enjoyed rereading it as an adult, even though it felt more simple than I remember and I was a tad skeptical of a few choices the author made (ahem hinting and “Jo” liking “Laurie”). That being said, I deeply appreciated how the author took some of the main plot points from Alcott’s novel and used them to write her own story. You could tell where the inspiration came from, but it was an original story in it's own right, which I think is the mark of a good adaptation. 💗
