I saw this question in one of my groups and thought it was so fun! Interested to read your answers 😋

I've recently discovered the 'Why Choose' trope and I got intrigued but also confused and I was hoping someone would clarify it! (for some reason can't find any answers anywhere). Is this the same as reverse harem? If not, what's the difference? I assumed that all why choose books would end in a polyamorous relationship but I'm realizing that's not always the case? So in these books, is it just multiple mmcs sharing an fmc without them all being in a relationship? As someone who's never read a book with this trope, which would you recommend as a first? I'm open to anything!

How many books do you read at the same time? I usually juggle a few: right now, I’m on four! If one feels too slow, I grab a horror book for a quick adrenaline boost, then go back and give the slow one another chapter. Anyone else do this? :x

I used to be a reader who would never ever DNF anything. But it's been really freeing in the last year or so to allow myself to move on if i'm not vibing with a book. So I wanna hear the silliest, most petty reasons you've DNF'd a book before. Mine was about 30 pages into a book when the MMC said in his head that the FMC was "barely pretty" and I just wasn't here for those vibes.

How do you feel about book clubs? Are you in one? I'm in a couple of clubs on Fable (online, the format is kind of like a forum) and usually manage to read some books with my best friend because there aren't any in our area that works with us (themewise mostly). How do you feel about online-videochatting ones? I'm conflicted, I don't think that format is for me.

i was a voracious reader, but until 2025, i wasn't reading regularly. part of it has been other commitments, but i realize now that i was reading books i didn't like LOL. after reading banger after banger, my itch to continue reading has become akin to how i felt as a kid discovering libraries for the first time. so: i've decided i will no longer force myself to read books i don't enjoy. i will now let myself dnf books so i can continue reading stuff i actually like 🤣 if you're looking for a sign to drop a book you're not enjoying, here u go !
