I'm trying my best to keep an open mind but like... its a struggle. Why are we giving time to the old fart who abuses his dog??? I don't want to know his sob story. The Narrator is also a weirdo. There are many comments that he makes towards fat people that are just horribly fatphobic. Maybe I'm not giving it the grace of being from the past, or maybe all of this horribleness is on purpose, but I am NOT vibing with it. Its short enough that I might as well just finish it though.

I’m surprised he even wants to find a way out now. Especially since he’s been very lackadaisical the whole novel. I guess that’s what happens when you’re faced with public execution.
