Hey Pagebound club! What are some of the characters you dislike? Like someone you cannot stand in any of the books you've reading (finished or not). Feel free to explain why, too. If it's a spoiler, say there's a slight spoiler, but don't hold on back on why you hate them. For me, it's Oushi from A Sign of Affection! He's so aggravating and rude for no reason!

I'd like to get a book as a gift for my friend's daughter who's turning 5 in August! I'd prefer a book that's more of a "classic" or something that will be really nice to add to their existing collection of books. The birthday girl's name is Ella, if that sparks anything! She likes princesses, music, fairies, ballet, and her mom is a doctoral candidate for choral conducting, so when I say she likes music, she's VERY exposed to music and chorus. I have some ideas, but would love input from others!

ok soooo I’ve just started this book and am on chapter 3 and can already say I am in love with this book… Like, as in I feel like as I’m reading I’m literally watching everything unfold. I’m there with Rin telling her everything will be okay and these privileged city kids are just jealous of her intelligence. I don’t even want to continue because I know I’m going to miss it and feel empty. And on top of all this, I’m already reading another book that I should just focus on, but this has me hooked. Wowwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Such an outstanding book, wow! I loved every bit of this book, from the academic setting to the fact that you can tell something is off and immoral but you haven’t been given the full story. It all ties up well at the end and you understand everything!!!!! I loved this book. 100% recommend, if you are on the fence just pick it up and read it, please!!!!! Sorry but will never like Ruth, leave Kathy aloneeeeee.

Ruth seems like the type of “friend” who put people down just so she can either feel better about herself or make her self look cooler 😒

I have been reading literary fiction, historical novels, classics, and fantasy for a long time, but I have recently started getting into nonfiction. I just graduated with a degree in environmental science, so I have a particular interest in anything nature/biology related, as well as historical nonfiction. If anyone has some recommendations that aren't too heavy for someone who is new to nonfiction, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I looooove these kinds of stories so much - yes there's pain, but also yearning and confronting what it means to be human. Do you have any book recs involving unrequited love, or where it's uncertain whether characters end up together or not? (I recognize this could get spoiler-y, so we can keep it vague what ends up happening 👀)
