Not bad so far, ideal fir filling time while waiting for book releases/audible credits. I like the humour. Adams is the best character so far lol. I. Reading as part of a set so not sure how % of progress of the first book, but im on chapter 10

  • DNF reads

Do you count your DNF books as read?

I don't. I would even go further on erasing the record that I read the book. And I won't talk about it or the fact that I DNF it. It's as if I never encounter the book. And sometimes I would even go much further and say, I haven't read it. But I've seen some vids of people counting them as read pile. I'm curious what you do with your DNFs

does your job influence your readings?

so, i was in the forum yesterday and i read a librarian talk about the way they review ARC books, and being a librarian of course they had a lof of useful info to share with the authors when giving feedback. it made me think of the way our jobs/education influence our reading habits. (of course that librarian/arc reader is very close, but i was thinking if anyone had any specific jobs that change how you interact with books?)

i'm a psychology student and i feel like it frames a lottt of how i connect to the characters in a book. i'm like "well, look at their situation though!" sometimes, and i find myself thinking a lot about the behavioral and emotional aspects of the characters (when they're well written). when i don’t like how they're written, i just wish they were LOL i feel like i could read anything if the characters were compelling, or just interesting (but then again, is this not how it works for everyone?)

anyway, how is it for you guys?

  • TBR vs Interested

I just joined Pagebound, and this is already one of my favorite features! As someone who tends to add almost every book that sounds interesting or is recommended to me to my TBR list, being able to put them in “interested” instead has made it so much easier to look at what books I actually plan to or want to get to soon!

  • Reading highlight of the week 🩷📚

I just finished my last shift of the week and this past weekend was a very long and difficult one at my job so I am so happy to now have a couple of days off to reset and read 📚

I would love to know, what was your reading highlight of the past week (could be finishing a book, starting one you’ve had on your tbr a long time, discovering a new genre/fav character/author - literally ANYTHING, maybe something else entirely) need some positive vibes to end this Monday with 🥰 And if you didn’t get a chance to read over the weekend, what was your highlight? 🩷

  • Mermaids and Sirens 💧 🧜🏼‍♀️ 🌊🪸

I’ve been rewatching H2o and Mako mermaids, so I tried to find a book about mermaids that gives off the same energy but none seems to taunt me. If anyone has a recommendation that might interest me I’d be thankful. 🙏🏻
