English is not my first language and I always feel cautious when writing comments in forums because of all the potential grammar errors/misunderstandings (I'll never understand English prepositions, but I've made peace with that).
Just wondering how many of us are there? What's your native language? It'd also be great to see a map showing where Pagebound users are.
Edit: wow, so many comments! I love to read about all the different native language, thank you! It's nice to think that, no matter how big the world is, there'll always be someone sharing the love for reading ā¤ļø (and now that I got cheesy it's time to find my exit).

In my country (Sweden) we celebrate Midsommar, or summer solstice, this weekend. It's a celebration of the longest day of the year and in my country the earliest time the sun goes down is all the way in the south, and that is still only about 5h without sunshine. Up north we have the midnight sun! It's celebrated with family, friends and community, and we have a lot of fun silly rituals and things we do (no we don't sacrifice people in general) and we have this fun video explaining it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yx0IiIvgK5Q&pp=ygUVbWlkc3VtbWVyIGZvciBkdW1taWVz
EDIT: pinned comment has a functioning link! If you wanna search on youtube, look for: midsommar for dummies, by embassy of sweden
It's silly but it does cover most of what we really do, the weird dances, the food, the music and the poleš It's my favorite celebration of the year and I wanted to share a bit of my culture with everyone here in the PB communityš„° I'm spending my day outside mostly and waiting for rain, because it always rains on midsommar, it's the start of our summer rainy season.
What is your favorite celebration of the year? What books do you love that take place during your favorite time? We don't have many translated to english so I'm sorry I have no recsš«£
Glad midsommar! š

Iām just genuinely curious about readers reading reviews. So I have a three part question.

I cannot recommend it, nor will I be reading it again-- five stars
This book was so uncomfortable.
You know that girl you were good friends with in primary school, who by secondary school is pretty enough, and bright enough, and nice enough, but is so very insecure that she wants every kernel of attention anyone gives her so she ends up getting passed around the sportsball teams and gets a reputation as a slam-pig (whether she slept with anyone or not) so you wish you could still be friends like you used to be, but you don't want your own reputation to suffer so you just look on in sadness, discomfort, and sometimes disgust, shaking your head and wishing things were different, not joining in the ick, but also not looking away?
That's what reading this book felt like.
Five stars because I am NOT someone who stares at car wrecks, but somehow this book kept me staring at the mess, turning pages even though I knew nothing good could possibly be coming for our lead character.
What a ride.
