It was a bit slow at times, while at other times I was enjoying myself. That seems to be my overall reaction with Kingfisher's books.
I appreciate the overall message (that I at least took from it) of learning self-worth, being comfortable in your own skin, and learning who you are and what you actually like and want.
And the otters get their own .5 star for being fabulous.

no consequence cream pies
listen, theres just something about breeding kink / cum play that makes me ✨ feral ✨ and especially romance books with NO pregnancy—yay for birth control!! more authors should include this in their books.

This is where I tap out. The first two books were pretty average to begin with, but the endings always hooked me to want to continue. But it's just the same dance of one step forward and three steps back. The plot just doesn't want to move toward the interesting things already set up.
I also did not have any interest in reading the PoV of fragile Florence and I definitely didn't have an interest in Regan's PoV and her redemption and romance.

While "cozy" isn't the right word given the action, this book still gave off that sort of vibe. It was a comfortable read that didn't have any true suspense or surprising moments, but I was engaged and enjoying the story.

I had such a good time with this mystery! The misdirections were great and they did start to lead me astray from my initial gut feeling.
I had a genuine reaction of sitting up and yelling "what?!" at a particular reveal later on and I'm so happy it got me.
