looking at the photos in this book makes me genuinely sad, especially when remembering the immense hope i felt around this time last year. i don't think we could have had it ALL, but we could have had so much more.

A Dowry of Blood is dark, intimate, and beautifully written. The prose feels almost like poetry. It is beautiful, haunting, and full of quiet fury. I was completely invested in Constanta’s voice and her journey from devotion to liberation.
It’s a slow, introspective book rather than a plot-driven one, but that worked for me. The atmosphere builds like a confession whispered in candlelight. It is elegant, tragic, and unforgettable.
