Books I Hope Will Be My New Favorites
There is a big muddy elephant in the room and it's messing up my furniture. The elephant's name is Good Omens is Good But Do I Want My Favorite Book to Be Authored By a Dead Man and Neil Gaiman? (Its mother must not have liked the elephant much.) So I must find a new book. Maybe a scary one that scares the elephant away or one so great it makes the elephant slightly insecure and it quietly leaves. Anyways here are some candidates! They will be removed if I read them and dislike them.

Gods From New Perspectives
I have an odd fascination with divinity in literature. It feels as though godhood that doesn't strictly adhere to Christian fundamentalism is rare and I am fond of seeing new interpretations of old gods or new gods who make you question what a god even is. Inherently, mythology and philosophy are tied with this subject which can be fun when done properly. So many questions inherently come with the existence of gods. I don't agree with every interpretation but it makes me think.

The last year Iāve wanted to read more classics. But I have no idea where to start.
I always struggle with getting locked in with the books, mostly because I only read in English (not my first language) and hate reading in my own language.
However I have decided to give the classics another chance. I would love to know what classics you guys recommend.
There are a few classics I own; ⢠The Great Gatsby ⢠Romeo & Juliet ⢠Alice in Wonderland (have dnfāed this twice alreadyš) ⢠Dracula ⢠Little Women ⢠Sense & Sensibilty ⢠Wuthering Heights
I usually read light fantasy, romance or thrillers. Iām also open to classics not in this list :)
If youāve read classics before, what books are easy to get into? What would you recommend to someone who has English as a second language?
I would love your recommendations š©·

Hello bookworms, as you can see from the title Iām looking for a very specific type of book.
Ever since I discovered I was aroace (though an oriented aroace) I have been in search of books about lone wanderes. Books that are about a single person (it can be multiple people as well, kind of like Lord of the rings!) that ventures out on a quest/adventure that doesnāt include any type of romance for the main character, (preferably for the major side characters as well if you have anything like it, but no pressure) but just pure, loving platonic relationships, Iāve been trying to find recommendations everywhere but I feel like many websites donāt really come with anything close, the best thing Iāve found so far is āSword of Shannaraā Which I am very interested to read :D (I have heard mixed reviews about it, mainly that itās just a rip off of LOTR, but Iāll try regardless) so it would help a ton to get some personalised recommendations as well, thank you :D šŖ·š

Iām curious to hear about why you may or may not block a user? Do you use this feature? Iāve never been on a platform like this where it shows you comment unavailable to indicate that you are blocked.
I was recently chatting with another reader about the vibes of a book and they didnāt agree, but instead of engaging in further discussion (to which I would have loved to have heard what vibes they thought the book had) they blocked me. Iām kinda bummed and have never had that happen before.
I wanted to open the floor up to maybe understand better. I donāt think I would block a reader in that fashion. Maybe I would use the feature if someone was sharing triggering content related, but not to end a conversation. Iām just surprised and a bit hurt.
Edit: WOW. Thank you all for sharing your experiences, opinions, perspectives, thoughts. This has really helped me see this feature in a different light and was very helpful for me to read. I appreciate you all. š«¶š»

I read this because of my crush back when I was in middle school and frankly I WAS NOT having fun with it at all. Maybe I don't remember it well but like I'm NOT rereading it to find out.

Is anyone like this? Because Iāve found myself creating really weird/good story lines for books but I canāt bring myself to writing them because I donāt know how to translate it in to words⦠š
Like last night I created a story about a knight who doesnāt believe about the creepy witch that lives in the forest and goes hunting for her and falls in love with her šāāļø

Just had a post pop up on my feed with a Quest around a very specific author with a very specific neon set of books, and the itch to mute was beyond expedient. Not sure how overall that would work logistically, but it never hurts to be a little fanciful!

I am a terrible annotater. I was recommended to start doing so, but I don't even know what to do. (I was taught writing in books was basically blasphemy)
Any recommendations as to how I would get started?
