I need to sleep. It's nearly one in the morning. The "one more chapter" little joke lead me to read 59 more pages like they were nothing.
I need a leash.

So I'm posting here because this is where I'm currently at in the story, but I've been seeing more about the series online and am not understanding the Rhys hate. People saying that he made Fayre his puppet and didn't give her choices and was worse than Tamlin. Where tho?? He is constantly supporting her right to choose. He is supporting her want to train and become strong. He makes her High Lady within his court which makes her his equal. He takes magic birth control because she's not ready to have a baby yet. When she goes off plan during the war he said he just wished he would have known so he could have gone with her, not preventing her from going. She has what appears to me to be full autonomy. Have I not gotten far enough in the story or is the Internet just being the Internet?

It took me nearly half the book to warm up to Nesta. I am still annoyed about her inability to communicate her true feelings and fears. But I can see now that it's coming from a deep self loathing. As with Feyre I love the realistic portrait of development. All the trauma doesn't magically dissappear but are a hard, long and painful journey that only the person itself can start and finish.

The world needs this book... It's just so so beautiful, so beautiful. I read this so fast considering the size and number of pages. This book especially this one changed my brain chemistry completely😭🥲. It's a damn gift for me and everyone who has ever read it because the lessons, the hope, the emotions, the writing, the story, the plot was just so so awesome and HEALING.

I started this a while ago, but, paused it bc I found the start of Chapter 1 a bit slow for my taste. But, now, as a mother/handler/player of a traumatized, very stressed, very done with all the bs happening in the world (read: there's a brewing war she wants no part of but can't get out) Wizard in D&D, this part:
"She looked around. Her place. Not a temporary stop or a spot to sling her bedroll for one night. Hers."
sent a strange and sad familiarity to me🥹 I think I'm gonna enjoy this.
