It was so good I literally forgot to come here and freak out over every Billy–Jet scene. And listen, a tiny delusional part of me truly thought there was gonna be a miracle and Jet would live. The ending absolutely blindsided me—but I loved it. Billy choosing life? Yeah, that wrecked me in the best way.

I’m not a mom so I can’t relate, but seriously—someone tell this woman to shut up and let the girl choose her own path. And poor Jet… what did they do to her? She’s so deep in the “family disappointment” role that all she can do is make jokes about how terrible her life is. My heart hurts for her.

I struggled with the first half, but once the second half started, I devoured it in one sitting. Alexis’s journey — redefining her priorities, recognizing the abuse she grew up with, and realizing she has the power to choose her own life — was amazing. And Daniel… I adore him.

Bri is the superior character and the only person who actually cares about Alexis. If she doesn’t get her happy ending, I swear I won’t emotionally recover from this book
