I liked it, BUT I WAS EXPECTING MORE. Bri magically overcoming her lifelong trauma because of ONE diary?? A bit too idealistic for my taste, but fine, whatever, the book still worked. Meanwhile Jacob was out here SINGLE-HANDEDLY carrying the entire story like a king. I love that man

Tell me why this book felt like I was watching a Bridgerton reality show, all vibes and scandals, with the fae just chilling in the background like decorations — AND THEN THE END HITS YOU WITH PLOT TWISTS THAT TURN YOU INTO A CERTIFIED CLOWN. I was NOT prepared.
Post from the The Rose Bargain forum
I FELL FOR BRAM’S LIE LIKE A FOOL. FULL CLOWN MAKEUP ON. THESE MEN DO NOTHING BUT LIE, MANIPULATE, AND GASLIGHT. I swear authors give us one (1) fae with decent cheekbones and suddenly I’m out here trusting like a Victorian orphan. NEVER AGAIN (until the next book).

Ivy LETTING GO OF EMMETT?? I’m in pain. Actual pain. She didn’t dump him—she sacrificed happiness like the tragic heroine she is.
And BRAM?? Listen, I want to believe he’s the good one, I really do. But after Mor’s whole “I look perfect but actually I’m nightmare fuel” situation?? I’m suspicious. ESPECIALLY with whatever Lydia has going on in those drawings.
If Bram turns out to be messed up too, I’m flipping a table.

I loved EVERYTHING. Jet was incredible, Billy was literally her perfect match, and it breaks me that their story just wasn’t written in the stars :( Also Jet writing a whole letter to Reggie and opening it with “I know you’re a dog”??? That moment stole my entire heart.
Post from the Not Quite Dead Yet forum
It was so good I literally forgot to come here and freak out over every Billy–Jet scene. And listen, a tiny delusional part of me truly thought there was gonna be a miracle and Jet would live. The ending absolutely blindsided me—but I loved it. Billy choosing life? Yeah, that wrecked me in the best way.

I’m not a mom so I can’t relate, but seriously—someone tell this woman to shut up and let the girl choose her own path. And poor Jet… what did they do to her? She’s so deep in the “family disappointment” role that all she can do is make jokes about how terrible her life is. My heart hurts for her.

I struggled with the first half, but once the second half started, I devoured it in one sitting. Alexis’s journey — redefining her priorities, recognizing the abuse she grew up with, and realizing she has the power to choose her own life — was amazing. And Daniel… I adore him.

I loved this book so much. Yes, it has some flaws, and a few things didn’t quite fit for me, but the ending still made my heart full. I just hope we get to see more of Doug, Bri, Liz, and Brian in the next books — they deserve their own happiness just as much as anyone else

Bri is the superior character and the only person who actually cares about Alexis. If she doesn’t get her happy ending, I swear I won’t emotionally recover from this book
