I had to put this book down for almost five months but Iâm so glad I picked it up again. Ahh, it has the most beautiful prose⌠âWhat do you want from this, Red? What are you doing here? Tell me something true, or tell me nothing at all.â Dreamy.

Does anybody else struggle to start with books they know they will really enjoy? in the same vein as not wanting to use stickers you have ( if i read a book now i can't read it for the first time later/ what if i'm not going to get the most out of a book by reading at this moment), but when you try to read another book you don't really want to read that one but one of the books you're avoiding. If anyone has tips on avoiding this I would love to know!

hey folks!!!! i just finished re-watching barbie in a christmas carol, and have since recollected that i have yet to see another adaptation of charles dickensâ story that included a female main character. therefore, i wanted to know if there was such thing in the literary world? if not,, iâll just have to write a fan fiction for it or something LOLZ

In my previous forum post I talked about the slight wish for the content to be organised or structured in some way - my confusion around the composition. As I progress through these vignettes, these memoirs, I'm coming to care less and less about this! Every short reflection is like window into the Authors soul and I quite like the untamed narrative. It feels fresh, natural.
The blend of family, culture, identity all tied into a memory or memories brought forth from a certain food - I've found myself smiling a lot. I also like that she is not shy about providing a fact or piece of historical information, or utilizing the way we eat a certain food as an analogy to self or cultural identity. Some of these prompt thought and discussion. Earlier on in the Mango section, again in the section on Lumpia. I wont quote these as I want to keep this spoiler free like my previous post, but its a beautiful book.

I just cracked open Onyx Storm after finishing a Fourth Wing and Iron Flame re-read in May. I forgot about the ungodly amount of characters in this story đ I feel like I need to keep the wiki open or something smh

When I go to look at the new lists, there's almost more with negative votes than positive ones đ. I think this tendence can be intimidating for new users.

Hi! Iâm a full time working behavior analyst who works with autistic kids. I tend to work a lot during the week but am trying to fit in reading in the evenings at least an hour or two.
For those of you also working a lot with busy schedules, how do you fit in reading for pleasure during the week?

My system for rating books has been based on reread ability and whether I would want that book in my personal library. I'm not a collector so I wouldn't want to buy a book to put it on my shelf and never open it. This is the system I used to help me rate books. (This is literally how I journalled it so I am aware it isn't perfect, just thoughts on paper.) 1âwill not read again/wish I never did, not a single good thing/only complaints 2âwill not read again and complaints 3âenjoyed BUT...I won't read again 4âwill read again BUT...complaints 5âwill read again/wouldn't change anything This rating system worked fine but I've noticed, looking at my past reads, it might as well be đor đ. I found myself giving 5 stars to books that I know for a fact I will never be picking up again and unsatisfied putting 5 stars next to a life changing book that I ponder on weekly. I journaled on 5 points that I find myself thinking about most often when I finish a soul book or a "6â book." ⢠World building/systems/consistency ⢠Portrayal of Characters/experiences ⢠Lingering effect/ponder/dreams ⢠Retell ability/recall characters ⢠Real World Parallels/deja vu I want to write better reviews for 2026, and I think either combining these systems or committing to the second can help me do that. How do you rate your books? What makes you ponder?

Starting this one for the badge. The Hallmark-style plot isn't really my thing (I prefer my romance with monsters...), but I have hope that it might be a cozy little read.

It's not a bad start but you have to read so far before she even enters the fae realm. I confess, i'm not a patient reader. It would be great for someone who has read very little fae fantasy because you are eased in.
