Does anyone have a favorite book to pick up and re-read whenever you need it, like comfort food in book form? I have several that I like to dip into when I just need a quick moment but am wondering what book(s) other people read once and then revisit in small bits whenever they need it. Thoughts? Suggestions as we get into cold weather here in the northern hemisphere and might need a cozy pick me up? Usually I re-read non-fiction this way (cooking, crafts), but I bet there are some favorite novels that would be nice. Thoughts? Preferences?

What's a book you did not or wouldn't pick up, because it has a cover you dislike?
What's a book you picked up specifically because you liked the cover?
The ones I didn't pick up based on the cover: Carley Fortune and Emily Henry books.
You know how you can recognize the genre of a book based on the cover? I don't know why, but they look like fiction books rather than romance books to me, so I've been hesitant to pick them up out of fear they wouldn't be romance-y enough for me. Maybe I'll reconsider, I'm sure they are popular for a reason, but I look at them and my brain goes... fiction.
A book I picked up based on the cover? The Princess Knight or Elise Kova's A Deal with the Elf King
Both are stunning books! I love the art style for each. A Deal with the Elf King is probably the first book I was really excited to own because it's so pretty.

personally, in the years between my childhood and early adulthood, I had rarely touched a book. if I did, I could hardly finish it and simply didn’t feel that spark. then I got inherently obsessed with one specific fanfic, mostly because of its queer found family and year-long yearning and basically the slowest of slowburns. afterwards I started picking up Six of Crows and Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the Universe, and bit by bit finally got back into physical books as well.
does anyone have similar experiences? and if so, what book / piece of literature got you back into reading? 📖

Hi there everyone, Has anyone here ever created a local bookclub? I’m thinking of starting one. How did you proceed?

While I was at work today, I got an acceptance e-mail for an ARC I've been hoping I get and have been so excited to read! My coworkers thought it was funny and couldn't understand how I went from almost all my energy gone to being on 100% again.
Now I'm at home redoing my ARC tbr list, so I can get to this one faster!😂 Has that happened to y'all? Have you had an ARC or a personal read that made you so excited you've gotten your energy back or so excited you just want to( or do) drop everything to read it?

Was reminiscing on how something that got me back into reading a few years ago was seeing a couple girls in a bookstore who just seemed to know SO much about the books on display. They were casually chatting through authors, what they've read, what's been popular, what has won awards, etc. At that time I was absolutely lost among the sea of books and just thought it was so cool and desperately wanted to develop that kind of knowledge myself. It inspired me to start reading more and try to get a finger on the "pulse" of the reading world!
Makes me wonder - what qualities do you find super cool and admirable in other readers that you would want to develop for yourself if you could?

Since I'm coming out of finals season, I'm going to have a lot more free time on hand to read. However! I love engaging in activities related to a book I've just completed. It serves as a way to ensure I was fully immersed and fully understood everything, but also as a way to farewell that initially read state.
I was wondering if anyone else does the same, and possibly has any recommendations? Just things like 'taking an online quiz', for example. The wackier and weirder the better (or just something unconventional)! 🧡📖🧋🍄

I'm having a reading block (non native English speaker here, maybe this is not the right way to name it) I like the book I just started but I can't focus. What do you guys do when your brain challenges you ?

An introduction to the Romantasy genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.
