After finishing this book, I have to say I’m disappointed. The plot has potential to make a really good read, but I personally did not like this book. With it being so popular, I guess I got my hopes/expectations up and was just really let down. It didn’t really feel like horror either, and seemed to be a flat storyline. It was basically like a detailed description of this dystopian world from the pov surrounding one guy, but there’s not really any major things happening (except for maybe two chapters).

Ummm, definitely had a slow start… still not sure if it was worth finishing. I’m almost too confused to appreciate this book, not my favorite.
Edit: Upon reading more about the book explained and what actually happened, it makes more sense and is actually pretty crazy! I’ll have to re-read it someday and listen to the audio book, it sounds like that is recommended.

I thought I knew what was going on. I did not. Then I thought I knew what was going on. I did not. THEN I thought I knew what was going on. I DID NOT. Now I'm done of the entire book and I am still confused. So.

I had a hard time getting hooked at first. It's a slow burn for sure, and the multiple POVs made it hard to connect with a single character. But the second half of the book was very addictive.

What a humdinger of a story. So many twists and turns my head was spinning by the end of it. I love a layered mystery!

I think this is gonna be yet another DNF for me. It’s not a bad book, but it’s also not holding my attention. I know I don’t have to justify why I’m DNFing a book.
