I was wondering what you feel about fanfics that end up being traditionally published and/or turned into movies? There's been a lot of those recently, and I feel more so in the past 10 years.
I myself wrote a lot of fanfiction back in the day, and I read some very good ones, too. However, I haven't enjoyed the fanfics that have been traditionally published and/or turned into movies. Granted, I only know of 50 Shades, the After series, and I think The Mortal Instruments was a Ron/Ginny fanfic?? lol. I recently saw there will be a movie of a Dramione fanfic, there's of course The Love Hypothesis film on the works, and I that Anne Hathaway romcom that was a Harry Styles fanfic (one of many that became mainstream lol).
What are your thoughts? Do you have recommendations of good books/movies based on fanfics? Or should fanfics just remain in fanfic spaces? Have you thought of publishing your own fanfics as original stories?

Knowing my sensitive self, I tend to avoid the fictions that would definitely stir up my feelings because I don't know what to do with them.
Just now I have braced myself to finish a really good fiction that meant to be disturbing. Underprepared, sadly. And now I can't stop thinking about all these flawed and struggling characters. I'm angry at them, at their deeds that led to the tragedy, and also the fact that there are even more people like them out there; I'm frustrated that I can do nothing--a wand flick or a finger snap--to wipe the issue away... I'm just soaking in my pieces of feelings and thoughts.
How do you deal with it? Or make a "use" out of it?

Does anyone around actually reread books? If so, do you pick and choose or have a set method for it.
Personally I only reread my absolute favourites or a series (or the most recent book) to get caught up again if it’s been a while!
My main reread usually is the Harry Potter series at least once a year. I’m also rereading the Robert Langdon books by Dan Brown before reading his newest.

I’ve been thinking a lot about secondary characters who are so fascinating that I wish they had their own book or spin-off. You know, those characters who have depth, mystery, or complex motivations, but we only ever get glimpses of them.
Sometimes a character pops up just in certain chapters, or you see the world through someone else’s eyes, and you’re left thinking: I need their full story!
I just finished reading the Bloodsworn Saga and honestly… I haven’t fully processed it yet. There are so many characters I’d love to explore more deeply. One that comes to mind is Vol; her perspective, powers, and backstory are incredibly intriguing, and I would read an entire story following her.
Who are your favorite secondary characters that you wish had their own book?

There are twists and turns at every corner of the plot mocking everyone equally, including the Aburĩria officals and me.

The same old story over and over again. Top-down oppression from government of your own country or from the other. Speaking the oppressed language leds to stigma or death. It is not that the languages are rare, but they become rare.

Does anyone remember the book/book series that got them into reading? I can't remember the very first book I read but I distinctly remember reading The Castle in The Attic and The Borrowers which completely changed the way I viewed my day-to-day. I always found myself trying to catch tiny people walking around tree trunks or the rooms in my house. They definitely fed my love and hope for fairies as a child.

When buying physical books what makes you choose one version or edition over another? Do you prefer the hardcover old leather bound look with ribbon bookmarks? Paperbacks with artsy covers and sprayed edges? What's the Thing that makes you go "Yes, this is the one I want".
Personally I prefer hardcovers and will take a peak under the dust covers (hate those) to see what kind of typeface is used, and any sort of gilded edging or ribbon bookmarks are an added bonus for me. One day I dream of taking all the books I don't have pretty versions of and rebind them all so there's an overall theme to my bookcases.

Mine says: Mainly reads fiction books that are adventurous, emotional, and dark. Typically chooses medium-paced books that are 300-499 pages long
And I’d say that’s pretty accurate lol. What does your say? Any surprises? Anyone twinning? 👀
