Hello folks (and happy pride!! 🏳️🌈) I was wondering, which book got you into reading? Some of us probably was born with a book in our hands, whilst others first discovered their love for reading later in life, and there’s always a special culprit for that. For me, it was “Shatter me” by Tahereh Mafi. I’ve liked reading since I was very little, (my teacher took my book away in 2nd grade and gave me a kindergarten book because the one I had with me was too hard for me apparently) but in middle school I realllyyyy got into it. It was an average very boring summer day, and I saw someone had left their book on the table, it was a very pretty book, read the title “Shatter me” and I read the description and kept thinking about it days later. Then I finally caved in and bought it and there starts my journey. it was a very bumpy ride to finding my personal taste, a lot of wasted money and unhauling haha, but I have officially found it, and shatter me still remains in the top 3 best series :D (I should reread it soon, as well as all of Tahereh mafis other books) 🍀🌊

I like going on long walks, and normally like to listen to some podcasts. I'm not looking for audiobooks, but people that review them. I currently follow LifeOnBooks and Hardcore Literature. I also like Unsolicited Advice but it seems he left Spotify unfortunately. What do you guys recommend?

I see people recommending the Julia book to flesh out the character, I loved 1984 but I don't want to read just a "fanfic". My question is, is it any good? Does it respect Orwell's vision?

"Wilde did not see these changes to his novel until after it appeared in print"
It must feel so unreal to be happy that your novel is published and then read it and realize that you have been censored and no one have told you. But then again with the law against "gross indecency" between men, he might already have known it would happen.
I look forward to reading his words. All of them.

I’m curious on what other people’s minds are thinking!
Personally my peice of advice is to not get caught up trying to be a ‘real’ bookfluencer. Just enjoy it!
