This book addresses all you need to know regarding the environmental impact of, propaganda by and lack of ethics within the meat and dairy industry. The amount of credible sources are plenty and irrefutable.

I cried several times. The writing didn’t exaggerate any of the cruel practices of animal farming; the acts of violence are nauseating in and of themselves. Needless to say I’m vegan now: for the planet, my own health, and all lovely creatures populating the earth, seas and sky. 🐄🐋🪿🌱

For everyone saying this proposal came out of nowhere and they prefer a more slow-burn romance (I love slow-burn myself):

They’ve been friends for about 10 years. This man’s been YEARNING. Emily may have failed to pick up on it, but I certainly have not. It may have been more subtle than in many other books, but actually loved that. (As for his previous dalliances: I’m convinced he only partook in those because he didn’t think he stood a chance and has only recently come to realise Emily cares A LOT about him through her actions on this quest.) 🧊❄️
Wendell doesn’t see her as one of his mistresses. So of course he chooses to make that clear by proposing rather than first trying to kiss or bed her. 🗡️🪡
Knowing Emily, he’s very considerate for properly proposing, as this actually gives her time to think and consider how much he cares. Him just trying to hit on her would only confuse her more, I think. 💍💭
Not every romance subplot should progress along the exact same route a lot of recent fantasy stories seem to take. Prior to reading this book, I would not have stated this is one of my favourite ways for romance to develop in fiction, but wouldn’t it be boring if every romance subplot was the same? It makes so much sense for them and this was such a pleasant surprise, I was kicking my feet. 🤭🥰
Don’t you all dare hope for him to turn his blond hair dark now. I’m fed up with that cliché (unless it’s a POC love interest, of course). All hail Bambleby, the sassy, whimsical, witty, murderous golden retriever boyfriend! 🧹✨
