This was a fun read! The writer nailed the “voice” of the girls. However it felt drawn out. I enjoyed the beginning, but the pacing felt very slow. IMO, the story should have either been shorter, more episodic, or in two parts. In part two it would start the tone again like another episode, maybe with a recap of part one? Something about the pacing just felt not quite right for the material. Anyway, still very fun and I could see myself giving book 2 a try.

Feeling hopeful that it feels just like an episode! So far so good in chapter one. I can see it play out in my mind ◡̈

I’ve had this one on my TBR for 6 years now. I saw the new cover art at the bookstore and decided to pick it up finally. It does have a cult following so I figured why not. I think this one may have just not been for me. I wanted to love it, but I felt distant from the characters and the plot. The ending did make it more interesting, but at that point I just wasn’t invested. I might recommend it for less experienced fantasy readers who want a fun read.

Solid whodunnit mystery. I wish the author leaned further into the art history aspect of it, but I overall enjoyed both the writing style and the setting most. The ending reveal was good but not where I thought it was going. Id recommend it to others who enjoy European style cozy mysteries, set in an isolated place.

This one came from recommendation from my boyfriend’s mom after we talked book a few minutes into meeting. I really enjoyed how quick and fun this read was. I was rather frustrated at times due to Molly’s thoughts and decisions. Though I believe that was a point, I found it difficult to read. I wanted to shake the girl by her shoulders and punch everyone else. Anyway, short and fun and worth the quick read for sure.
