this wasn’t a perfect book, and i rolled my eyes more than once, but it had me giggling and kicking my feet

remarkably boring for a book about gossip

first off, thank you netgalley for the arc 🫶🏻
so…i was super excited about this one. and disappointed. let me preface with saying that christine was fighting an uphill battle here - not only did i LOVE attached at the hip (a six star read i recommend to everyone i meet) but i just finished a slew of fantastic romance novels (peyton corinne, abby jiminez, emily henry).
but. this was a hard read ngl. it was cringey, not funny, millennial core up down and all around (derogatory), and probably a poor self insert. i’m not sure magical realism is for me, so that’s another thing.
all in all, this is not the christine riccio book i would recommend; however, if you want to read a fantastic, hilarious, well-written romance book, check out attached at the hip 😬

second, this book changed something in me. i liked the first and second books, sure, but this…this was something entirely different. this wasn’t some cute little romance book. this was a love story for the ages, two people whose broken parts fit together perfectly. i literally couldn’t sleep for two nights because i wanted to finish bennett and paloma’s story that bad. i reached for my phone at 3:00am, knowing i had an early morning, just to ease the heartache of being between the past and present chapters.
peyton outdid herself with this one, dare i say six stars from me?

i rarely agree with the masses on a romance, but how could i not?

strange book to turn into a graphic novel but maybe it makes it more accessible? i remember reading this around the age melinda is in the book, then seeing the movie with kristen stewart, brings back a lot of hard memories but i’m glad this book continues to be a backbone of middle grade literature

my first graphic novel in 20 years and the artwork surely didn’t disappoint

this one’s hard to rate because i’m not the target audience anymore; as an adult, i don’t think scarlett and julian had any chemistry, donatella was insufferable, and i’m not quite sure the game mechanics made sense. despite that, i didn’t hate the book and will probably read the rest. 14 year old me would’ve eaten this up, so a three star it shall be 🫶🏻

thank you @ netgalley for the audio arc! loved the author narrating this and she had the best voice ever. was a quick read that got me thinking and i love hearing things that change how i plan to parent. my only criticism is that it was a bit repetitive, but i assume that’s to hammer some points home
