This is such a wonderful surprise, because I didn't really like Every Summer After. The pining, the tension, the slow burn. The imagery of summer feels so vivid. Another book that managed to find me at the perfect time. The chemistry between Charlie and Alice is just so good.

It's such a slog to read. 🥀 The lack of quotation marks threw me of so I am thankful for the audiobook.
There are interesting discussions and presentations of how nuanced each humans are in this book, but that doesn't change the fact that I was bored reading it.
Ps. Peter is such a horrible person.

I've been wanting to read Rio's story, since I find his character endearing in the other Windy City books.
I enjoyed reading this book. Just not as much as the last 2 books. I find some bits that should have emotionally pulled me to fall flat. What happened in the past with between Hallie and Rio's family was quite a spectacle. You can say that I'd love to smack Hallie's mom and Rio's dad.
The journey towards healing between this two is a joy to read because it also goes along the healing between their family. I really thought that there will be a third-act break-up, but I am so happy that there was none. The challenges that Rio and Hallie face is enough for the plot and doesn't need some random break-up to "spice it up", so that's a plus on my book. Edit Review

So far, so good. I think this book will have lots of flashbacks from Rio and Hallie's past. I'm hoping that I will like this one because I haven't really enjoyed this format in books a lot 😅 Rio is such a fascinating character from the previous books and I'm excited for his happy ending.
