Messed me up. It truly has disturbing plot but it is worth the read if you can stomach it. It has a very impactful message.

Where the Drowned Girls Go (Wayward Children, #7)
Seanan McGuire
Since the Wayward Children series on some level encourages jumping around and reading the books outside of the linear order, I thought I would put this here!
This book does continue following a character introduced in a previous book, and furthers their journey. To my understanding, Cora is initially introduced in book #5 - Come Tumbling Down and we pick up here where that book leaves off.
I think there’s sufficient re-capping happening to make everything make sense if you’re like me and reading out of order, but if you’re someone who wants to follow the characters from start to finish you might need to backtrack before starting this one!

I genuinely love all of the books so I read them in release order by I feel like the first book and any of the books about a specific kids experience could be stand alone. My favorite is Lost in the Moment and Found which is Book 8 and the main characters story is continued in Mislaid in Parts Half-Known which is a main plot book and Book 9.
