anyone else feel personally victimized when you glance at the mins left in chapter mark on your kindle and see more than 1 hour?? I’m a fast reader but there’s something about starting a long chapter that just makes me ughhh - just me? 🤣 I tend to only stop reading after finishing a chapter so there’s that

What is your typical go-to drink when you read? I usually make iced caramel latte, cappuccino or tea ^_^

I didn't stumble upon this book while searching through amazon or even while scrolling my way through the countless book tracking apps I've managed to join over the past year but it was suggested to me by a friend. I had been telling them about my new found love of dark romance novels and horror and this is one of the first books they suggested to me. After reading the summary of the novel, I decided that it could be something that I'm into. I didn't read it right away ; it sat on my kindle for a while but I needed to clear some of my kindle unlimited books and decided that I should give this one a shot and I immediately fell in love. I started reading this book and honestly, I couldn't fucking stop. I would stay up late telling myself " just one more chapter " before finally forcing myself to shut my kindle off because it was closing in one three in the morning and I needed to get some sleep. first of all, the writing in this novel is absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed the world building, the characters and their development and everything else in between. it had some twists, some banter, a decent amount of creepy little descriptions and everything else in between that people truly love about a horror romance. The characters, even the background characters were all essential parts of the story, no matter how little of a part they actually played in the main story. I enjoyed Sydney as a character and even managed to find myself falling a little too in love with Wes and his character. the relationship between Sydney and Wes was one of my favorite parts of this book. I'm not one to spoil a novel, mostly because I wouldn't want it spoiled for me but this novel was fantastic and was definitely one of my favorite novels I read this year and while I don't know when this will happen, I absolutely intend to read her other novels.
