This was fun, a bit insta love but I’m not mad at it. Sometimes there was sex for the sake of it and the conflict was too quick to resolve. But I love a Greek myth retelling and I really love Meg Sylan’s narration! Will probably listen to the rest of the series at some point

I really went into this book blind, I had no idea it was a vampire book or sapphic so that was a real pleasant surprise. I loved how this books feeds you just enough information to keep you informed at that exact moment in the story. It’s a brilliant depiction of toxic love, what it means to be alive and what humanity looks like. I did find the writing cumbersome at times, I know some people love the overly descriptive prose but it starts to feel samey for me after a while. The first reading how it feels to consume someone else’s heartbeat is really beautiful and poignant, the tenth time feels repetitive - we get it, we heard you the first 9 times.
Overall I really did enjoy the book despite it feeling slow at times. I feel like the book could have been shorter and had the same impact. Probably not a book I would reread, but glad to finally get it off my tbr!

Well this certainly filled a gap that was left my B K Borison's 'First Time Caller' and 'And Now Back To You'. I really enjoy the broadcast/radio setting for a love story. Their relationship was cute and there was a nice pace and set up for them to fall in love. I really like how both characters were pretty passive and gentle, it was a relaxing audiobook listen.
