I appreciate the book for its prose more than its characters. It has some really beautiful or thought provoking passages that I highlighted. Otherwise, I feel very passive about this book. There were upsetting parts in there and the main character's lack of emotions was frustrating at times, though there were also moments I could relate to and understand him somewhat. It’s probably the sort of narrative that only really clicks the second time round.

Saw @catlikestoread 's post about everyone's underrated queer books, so I'll ask a slightly different question to mark pride month beginning tomorrow:
What queer books are we reading in the month of June? 👀 🏳️🌈
I think I'm gonna read Madsdotter and Adrastus by Aelina Isaacs, and Bury Your Gays: an Anthology of Tragic Queer Horror. I will probably read more, and just choose depending on mood 🥰
