Hello! Before I start this out, I want to say that I am typically a huge fan of "good for her" stories. I love explorations of female rage and men facing the consequences for their casual sexism. However, I think I'm running to a bit of "good for her" fatigue. It seems like so many books being published these days follow this trope, and while I do enjoy it, I feel myself getting fatigued. It's gotten to the point where even reading the synopsis of a new "good for her" book is difficult for me.
Idk, I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else anyone else feels/has ever felt the same. If you've ever had this same sort of "trope fatigue", how did you get out of it? I've been distancing myself from the "good for her" trope for a few weeks, but I'm still struggling with the fatigue.
NOTE: Please don't take this as a slight against those who write/read "good for her" books!! I firmly believe that people should write/read whatever they enjoy!! I, myself, typically enjoy "good for her" books!! I'm just struggling a bit and want to know if there's anyone else who is as well.
