    The Constellation of Forgotten Things

    The Constellation of Forgotten Things

    Tiffany Chu

When love transcends the boundaries of time, memory, and even death itself. In the world of Reveria, broken dreams rise as trails of light across the night sky. A blacksmith's boy vanishes into rebellion. Two cosmic beings—one of Memory, one of Void—discover their forbidden love might reshape reality. The Constellation of Forgotten Things weaves together interconnected tales of love that defies impossible distances: between life and death, earth and sky, remembering and forgetting. Each story illuminates a different facet of love's power to endure—and its cost. This collection is both an act of remembrance and a celebration of the stories we tell to keep our beloveds alive, proving that some bonds transcend even the veil between worlds. Perfect for readers who love the lyricism of Madeline Miller and Alix E. Harrow, the emotional storytelling of Studio Ghibli films, and the mythic beauty of Ursula K. Le Guin's work. If you read for gorgeous language and deep feeling rather than fast plots—these stories will captivate you. Love that would change the constellations and the reality of existence.

Wow, these poor boys really go through the wringer.

This book to me felt like following Andrew through the five stages of grief, but with Denial taking the forefront (especially as his tendency to be avoidant due to his severe anxiety kicks into hyperdrive).

Both of these boys are dealing with the Horrors, whether in the symbolic sense or the literal sense. Bullies, injustice, grief, trauma, guilt, reality shattering monsters, you name it. All of that and they still have to put on a mask at school, AKA mini-society, to be a cog in the machine. To keep up appearances or risk the consequences.

While I found myself frustrated with Andrew, I also cannot blame him for losing his mind. On that same note, I will still acknowledge his toxic relationship with Thomas no matter how much I feel for the atrocities they were going through. As someone who had a codependent partner in high-school, seeing how Andrew viewed and treated Thomas made me not like their relationship dynamic and I hope that was the point. To show how, even if one loves someone to their very core, they’re still capable of hurting them and that obsession isn’t a good thing (Also, don’t get me wrong, Thomas had his demons as well).

Anywho, I’m still digesting my thoughts but I wanted to at least share this.
