Hello! What it says in the title, my mom, dad, and I are trying to find a book to listen to that would fit well into a twelve hour roadtrip. Itâs six hours each way, but I suppose on the shorter end for an audiobook would be nice just because weâd be driving late and would need breaks.
Genre doesnât matter, just length! I would also say maybe something more lighthearted or engaging so we donât fall asleep behind the wheel, haha. Thank you! đŤś

This was a very thoughtful, heavy short story with an upsetting beginning and a perfectly satisfying ending. It resonates with the feminine rage term very well, both for the main character and for the reader.
Madeline Millerâs writing is just phenomenal in everything she has published, and that same flow and comprehension that Iâve seen in her other work shows here. She knows what she wants to portray in each piece and goes for it thoroughly, and even in a seventeen or so page story, you feel as if youâve just read a packed and complete novel.

I had started the book years ago when I was in middle school, but never finished. Recently, I picked it back up and swallowed it whole in a matter of days. The power of this book is it grows more tender and aching the older and more experienced you continuously become. The writing style is just stunning, the pacing is perfect, and itâs such an bittersweet and poetic story thatâs surprisingly not difficult to take in like many mythology books.
This book is just phenomenal for any reader of any kind, whether youâre familiar with Greek mythology or you know nothing of it, as there is so much to take from it. I already held the book in my heart when I first started it years ago, and I will continue to do so for a very long time.

I havenât thoroughly engaged with a book like this in perhaps decades. I want my kids to read it. I want my mom to read it. I want my ancestors and future great grand children to read it. There is something wholesome and pure about the writing and the plot so far. I would like to imagine embodying this level of optimism - would I subject myself to such a mission in order to have it though?
