I wanna kiss the authors hands and hug her, it's such a well written book. from the characters and their depths to the syrian experience with all it's darkness and syria's beauty even through the struggle, all of it was portrayed so well! I cried, got excited with and anxiously hoped for the characters throughout the story, I've grown so attached to them

now I'm not someone who cries a lot but the amount of times this book has made me cry- the fact that a major part of it is/has been a reality for so many people not just in syria but also in palestine breaks my heart even more

half the time it felt like the characters were narrating the plot instead of things happening, there was barely any chemistry between the characters, I still don't understand why they even like each other besides the fact that they're both victims of the same villain and they're obsessed with sleeping with each other. since the whole plot was dependant on the villain and his story you'd expect a grand, messy and gripping reveal of the details but no, again just the character narrating what happened in a very boring way. Overall the book felt very bland, it didn't evoke any feelings in me
