The "not sure why I'm obsessed with death?" List
Books that may indicate you are a bit weird about death (maybe you need to know everything about it to be less anxious, like me?)

BIRDS .!
I should sleep. Instead, birds. (Birds in fantasy novels, titles, and/or covers. There are so many.)

this is kinda just a vent post but does it annoy anyone else when a series just spontaneously gets a new set of cover art and then it’s impossible to get the old ones easily?
this is probably partially my fault for buying the first in a series and then waiting so long to get the rest but this happened to me with both Mistborn (which i do like the new covers better but it’s the principal of the matter) and The Darker Shade of Magic (where i prefer the old covers way more then the new ones). and now it’s either live with having mismatched series or buy a second copy of the first. this isn’t too serious of a problem but it’s just a recent pet peeve of mine. i’m all for fancy editions and stuff but please at least keep the old covers in circulation for a little bit longer 😭

What books do you hate but other people love? I really hated the Kingdom of the Wicked, Shatter Me, and Red Queen series, they were all DNFs for me 😩

Are there any books you love but that you haven't seen anyone else here or on other platforms recommend? Which books do you think are generally underhyped?
I can start: How to be both by Ali Smith is one of my favorite books ever, but I haven't yet come across anyone recommending it! Maybe because it's been out for a while already?

Alright friends, it's 100℉ in Texas today, you know what that means???
Nothing. BUT I'm trying to be smart and plan/purchase bookish-themed xmas gifts early and support small businesses/not AI. Does anyone have any special book-ish brands or creators they buy from? I'll also be buying books from local bookstores, but I would like to plan as best I can 😅
I also understand it's only August and that means it's Halloween Szn (girls, gays, and theys please be nice to me, i'm just tryna save money, 🫶🏼)

hi! i've been trying to find something close to that gory-like genre!! and women being psychopaths and so, lol.
i can't fit in the title, but if you have some recommendations for chinese history books, i would love heart about them!! the rape of nanking is one of my favorite books and it is very difficult to find chinese history books in europe :(

A collection of the pilot books for popular series, for those of us who love to follow a character's journey for as long as an author will let us! Some of the below series have heavily debated starting points and book read orders--in those cases the pilot was selected based on what seems to be the most popular approach.
