2.5/5 stars. Pretty on par with the last book. Although in this book Kiara is no where near traumatized enough for what she went through. Also the logistics of being with all 5 of them seems like way too much work.

2.5/5 stars. This book started off rough. I kind of hate the fact that it's set in real life New York, I much prefer fantasy settings for a book like this. By the last 1/3 I was actually interested since a plot finally started being formed. In the beginning I honestly was close to dnf'ing and I very rarely do. I hope the next two books are more similar to the last bit.
I will say honestly the writing sucked. The dialogue was so cringy at times it took me out of the book. I also hated that the big bad guy is called "King" it felt so weird.
Also there was so much almost sex in the book it was unnecessary. I like a good romance book but this was pushing it. I'm also not a huge fan of the alpha-mate thing with 5 guys that was going on. Sometimes that can work but I didn't like it in this setting. I think it was just a lot how it was written just made me cringe since it was a lot all at once. The slow burn are better imo. This was mostly a book to just have on in the background since it was like 300 pages but 1/2 of it could have been cut and it not have changed how much plot we got. At least it was short that definitely saved it a bit.

5/5 stars. I was enthralled from the moment I picked up this book! I thought it was amazingly well written and a great murder mystery. I will say at points it was hard to read since there was a lot of abuse and pedophilia.

3.5/5 stars. Overall I did enjoy Cat's Eye. It was interesting to see her perspective on her traumas throughout life and how they shaped her. It was also interesting to have the pov of someone clearly neurodivergent in some sense but was not fully aware of that and how she navigated that. She was a mostly interesting character but definitely frustrating as well.
I did find it jarring to go between the present and the past, I would have liked if it was more obvious when that change was happening. The ending also felt very abrupt and unfinished.
I definitely find these kinds of books lacking a plot to me but that is the nature of these kinds of books.
