This autumn I want to read both babel and katabasis so I decided to start from this series and make my way up to date with Kuang's books. Both my very good friends loved this series so I have high expectations!

I don't know what to feel about this book. It reads waaaay slower that I would've liked and neither the characters or the story interest me much. The only thing still keeping me here is that I actually want to know about Saika's magic even if I already figured the jist of it I want to know more about what actually happened.

I really loved how atmospheric and moody A Dowry of Blood was. What's a song that reminds you of it? For me I'd say Amira Elfeky's whole catalogue but also recently heard Skin and Bones by David Kushner which fits too.
