HRCYED week 4 - one month down!

If you don't know what HRCYED is, it's the Hardest Reading Challenge You'll Ever Do. It spans the whole year, from july 7th 2026 to july 6th 2027. I made a post with all the details over here earlier this year.

You can of course join anytime. There's the normal challenge (75 to 150 books needed to finish) and a simpler version with only 25 books needed. There's even a kids and teens version.

horror audiobook recs

Hiii everyone!! I noticed a lot of posts with audiobook recommendations but as a horror/thriller lover I didn't find many books I was interested in. So here is my question to you: which horror/thrillers (but preferably horror) would you say are better as an audiobook? I'm looking for a book where the audio enhances the experience, be it because of sound effects, a full cast or whatever reason. Thanks for helping me out😭

Is there a pre requirement of it being a life action movie?

Or could it also be animated? Because in that case i would like to nominate: the wild robot, by peter brown.

The book is beautiful, and the movie was very well done.

The Jasad Heir

The beginning was great, I was hooked. Finally a FMC who is tall and strong and not a petite fragile thing. The middle started to drag but the characters were so strong, I kept pushing. By the end I was increasing my audiobook speed to get through. There is so much world building but not enough time spent in it, just constantly throwing out new names and lore. Every once in a while there’s a plot point as a treat The slow burn is not what I consider slow burn. They hate eachother, they flirt, they have a moment, rinse and repeat until suddenly they’re in love without ever even liking eachother.

Dragons

I’m getting ready to start a dragon rider inspired workout challenge and I want to read a lot of dragon books to go along with it. I’ll be reading books from the Flights of Fire quest but I would love to hear other suggestions or best books to start with! (I usually prefer little to no romance but I know that’s rare in this genre)
