mishhaps commented on mishhaps's review of The Tommyknockers
War is over I have finally finished The Tommyknockers.
This book is INSANE. It will not be for everyone because it is definitely too long, but for fans of King's writing and science fiction I think its such a wild ride. Some genuinely creepy and unsettling moments along with some that are downright hilarious (looking at you, evil vending machine).
I thought the ending stuck the landing pretty well, but as with much of King's works the OPENING to this book is SO compelling.
Ultimately I agree with King's own assessment: "There's really a good book in here, underneath all the sort of spurious energy that cocaine provides..."
