If I had a nickel for every time I didn’t know I was reading a published book that was originally Reylo fan fiction, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
A fun, predictable read that still has moments that make you kick your feet despite wanting to shake the FMC half the book. Especially if you have been through a STEM grad program, the behavior of the FMC will make you want to pull your hair out. Despite that and the forced miscommunication, I still overall enjoyed reading. However, I’m an avid fanfic reader so I’m probably more forgiving of this writing style than others. I’ve heard from Hazelwood fans that her writing gets better and better with subsequent books and plan on checking out the next in the series.

A gem of a book. A perfect read to get out of a book slump and remind you about the good and the silly friendship has waiting for us all. Multi POV books always take a second for me to get into, but once you’ve got a frame work of who’s who I didn’t want to put it down. I’ve seen some things complaining about the ending feeling rushed which I generally disagree with. I thought the pacing was good throughout and as opposed to feeling rushed at the conclusion it just felt more like I didn’t want my time with these characters to end. 9/10.

I think I really like this author.
(I firmly believe that Ziggy was dealt a bad hand, and that his mother should not have forced him to take sole responsibility of Kylie)

If you want a low stress one shot with sweet characters and a conflict that isn’t completely centered on miscommunication, this is the book for you! Like most one shots I find the pacing was a little hard to believe, but it warmed my heart enough that I didn’t care. Supporting characters were almost after school special level of friendship and love which I can understand isn’t for everyone, but when the world is Hell sometimes it’s nice to escape to a love story that reminds you over and over again how the people in your life should be riding for you.
