Vampire Academy is about two best friends, Lissa and Rose, coming back to a vampire academy after mysteriously escaping 2 years ago for unknown reasons. This novel has some mystery, romance (?), and a hell of a lot of high school drama. It did not take a lot of brain cells to complete this book. I have one major issue with this novel, which will explain my question mark earlier. There is pedophilia here and it is romanticized, which I do not think is okay. I don't care how either of the parties feel about each other, there is no excuse for this. Any disparity in power is something I cannot stand for, and mind you this book had many of them. I'm trying not to give anything away here so I'll keep it brief. The premises of this novel is compelling, it has a unique paranormal system and at the end of the day, it ends with Lissa and Rose navigating their friendship. I think the pedophilia pretty much ruined it for me which warranted the 2 stars.

If you like princess bride, read this. Such a fun time and so unserious LOL
