I don't think I trust Charles so much, he's...odd, which says a lot about this book🤔

This is my first time reading a book on Chinese Mythology and I'm very excited! The first chapter already felt so magical and I can't wait to dive deeper into this! ❤️

Reading Ember in the Ashes 2 months ago left me in a reading slump but in the best way because that book was amazing! 😭✨
And so, 2 months later, I am back and ready to take this on again, it's getting somewhere which makes me happy so let's hope I get my reading back on track. ☺️

pumkinpatch commented on fleurdelune's review of The Bear and the Nightingale
I can see why so many people love The Bear and the Nightingale. It has everything I desire, snowy forests, folklore, old magic, and an unhinged girl who refuses to fit into whatever life has chosen for her.
Vasya was such an easy character to root for, not to mention I wanted more of Morozko too! The pace was a little too slow for me (I have the attention span of a house fly!). Once everything started coming together towards the end, I was happy. I’m glad I finally finished after a month of deliberation.
Umm...a lot of characters made decisions that seemed selfless on the surface but were a tad bit selfish. I wish to line up everyone and spank them for the double standards.
