Hi fellow readers! I'm exploring some body-related themes in my life right now (chronic pain and illness, fatness, existence and desire as a fat racialised queer femme person in a culture ruled by white supremacy, etc and the violence that comes with it) and would love to read books along the same lines. My usual genres are contemporary literary fiction but I'd be open to reading anything, including non-fiction and poetry. Anything that explores non-normative bodies and coming to terms with feeling like you can't outrun your body. I'm especially thinking of books that lead to similar feelings as this line from a poem by Polish poet Maria Wisława Anna Szymborska "the body is and is and is and has nowhere to go."
