“The truth was that I questioned the value of my love — I wasn’t sure how much benefit it could be to anybody.” Oof. Blimey. This hit harder than it should. I should be in therapy.

I'm posting this because it was in the cozy fantasy quest. The rest of the books are great. But should we be reading Neil Gaiman at the moment? I mean like maybe wait till he's ☠️☠️☠️

(^ yes, that was a vampire pun) Can someone please tell me if this is a historic re-working of Carmilla or if it's been set in the modern era, ie. post mid-20th century? Trying to decide if I should add it to my tbr or not! ✨

Raine’s poetry is beautiful — it’s certainly above average — but a little wistfully bleak in an unhelpful way? What’s really striking about this collection though, are the accompanying illustrations by extraordinary English sculptor Barbara Hepworth. Obsessed.

These books are still do good! After 10 years they're still so gripping and i really loved rereading them. Winter was so long and i feel like the story was honestly not very much about her. Makes sense given the plot was so full of stuff but either way i enjoyed it a lot!!
