steventoast's Book Journey

“provided they were all story and no reflection, she had never any objections to books at all” LOL she’s lowkey real for that

like ik its a parody but whatever Tilney is doing is working on me!😼

"[...] Morland is a fool for not keeping a horse and a gig of his own." "No, he is not," said Catherine warmly, "for I am sure he could not afford it." "And why cannot he afford it?" "Because he has not money enough." "And whose fault is that?" "Nobody's, that I know of."

Oh, how much I despise John Thorpe. But I am glad that Catherine is kind of growing a backbone in terms of standing her ground in front of him. By hiding or avoiding him at the ball or just showing obviously how displeased she is with him deceiving her about the Tilneys' whereabouts. Of course Catherine has her flaws, but she does seem to be growing.

I also enjoy seeing Catherine defending her brother as best as she can.

Henry is also a Udolpho fan! 🥰

Overactive imagination gone wild. Every shadow, every strange cupboard is a vessel for potential mystery and intrigue in Catherine’s eyes except northanger abbey so far is a pretty normal house. Henry had no clue what he started when he teased her about what strange things could happen in the house if this was a novel…

Mr. Tilney made a great parody of the gothic novels XD He may wanted her to be afraid of the house, just for fun, but not of his father... Catherine's mind went so far..
