Okay, real talk: do you guys listen to music when reading or do you prefer not to? I lowkey sometimes can’t read some books without listening to a playlist. It sets the vibe, makes the world feel alive, and sometimes even makes me ugly cry. 🧍🏼♀️
But I usually only listen to music for some genres, for example:
🖤 Horror = I search for “atmospheric horror playlists”. 💜 Fantasy = If it’s famous enough, I search for book-specific playlists. The Poppy War playlist absolutely broke me on The Burning God last chapter 👌🏻
I usually do instrumental only. Lyrics = instant brain chaos.
So… what about you? Instrumental, lyrics, white noise, or silence? Got a playlist you swear by? Drop your links! I’m looking at (stealing) them all. ✨

An introduction to the Romance genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.

Since the new Animal Farm trailer made me scream, cry, and commit tax fraud... what are your least favorite book to movie adaptations?

How do y'all find the self control to stay away from tik tok and actually read your books. I feel like every time I sit down it's just easier to sit and doom scroll than it is to read and I want to get away from that. I'd delete tik tok but it's so hard since I get so many good book recommendations there.

specifically romance readers. ok so something that has been bothering me lately is the fact that the characters in romance roles spend the entire book trying to get together and once they do, the book ends. which like i understand ending there but especially if there is a sequel, i want a good amount of time where they are together and not fighting. im not asking for a perfect relationship, but i want to see the characters happy 😭 prime example: better than the movies. SPOILERS FOR THE BOOKS NOW SO SKIP TO THE BOTTOM
ok so in bttm the book ended as soon as they got together. when the sequel was announced i was so excited to see them together. and what do you know? THEY ARENT TOGETHER 💀 in the book the breakup made sense, but they spent THE ENTIRE BOOK FIGHTING UNTIL THEY GOT BACK TOGETHER. IT WAS PAINFUL. is it too much to ask for just to see them together 🥲🥲
anyways im ending my rant. im curious if anyone else is feeling annoyed by this or if this is just a me thing ( plz tell me this isnt just a me thing 😀)
