I don’t know if the rating should really be this high. I did enjoy the book, it writing did feel a bit off at times (like at the beginning with the devil… that whole conversation was horribly written), but I did like a lot of the conversations that were covered. I really did not like the main character, and I agree with a lot of the reviews that it was weird that just because everyone was white (which was really weird btw) that they are all the same?

This was a very satisfying murder mystery! I really didn’t see it coming but it makes a lot of sense and the cliff hanger at the end is just crazy! I cannot wait for the second book. The reason the book isn’t 5 stars is because I really did not like Torren in the beginning, and the sex scenes really though me off. They seemed out of place and really just was not my vibe. It’s my first time reading this author (I have their other series but just never read it) and I was pleasantly surprised, so it might be time for me to finally read her other books.

I really could just not get into the book like I did the first one. It took me a long time to warm up to the new POVs and I found myself missing Elspiths and the Nightmares dynamic a lot.
