pleeasse give me suggestions for classics that make you want to close the book and wash your eyes. but in a good way. in a "im disturbed" way. in a "I need to put on something happy so I can sleep tonight" way. like Dracula, Frankenstein, and Sleepy Hollow vibes. But also taking Wuthering Heights vibes. That book truly made me want to chuck it across the room. but I think about it ALL THE TIME. I see it in my mind and Kathy is haunting me. When I hear a branch outside my window I know its her.

Ok, I may have just started this thread because I want to share this gorgeous quote by Zadie Smith with everyone (its quoted in Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson) + I love reading beautiful sentences and looking out into the distance meaningfully.
"There was an inevitability about their road towards each other which encouraged meandering along the route" - Zadie Smith, NW
Aaagghhhh!!! 😘😭😩🥰🥹😭❤️❤️

After reading The Spellshop by Sarah Best Durst, I posted that I don’t really know if I would classify it as a cozy fantasy. Even though a lot of readers do. It made me see that everyone’s interpretation of it is different.
Compared it to an anime. Maybe like Fruits Basket (Not similar in story, but level of slice of life drama) For instance, Tohru is so naive and positive, but she did live in a tent with a picture of her dead mother. Along with some other heavy themes in the guise of lightness.
My interpretation of fantasy: Not your Ex’s Hexes by April Asher is my interpretation of cozy fantasy. It’s a quick Romantic fantasy of a witch finding herself while also helping out a hot vet with his struggling hospital.
If you can compare The Spellshop to another book/show/movie what would you say is cozy fantasy to you?
That way I can better see what is considered cozy.
